My parents are long gone, you see,
To a place much more benign.
United and at peace they are,
And I am waiting for their sign.
They left me and I feel bewildered,
So lonely, bearing all brunt,
With my life, its trials, daily toil,
And the happiness I hunt.
No more their comfortable guidance,
No more of their security,
I feel bereft, in many needs;
Where is this place: eternity?
The day will come when re-united,
with my dear parents I shall be,
and together then for evermore
rejoicing in God’s company.
