WHEN WINTER STORMS HOWL..........

When Winter storms howl and I shiver,

‘Shall I go out to work?’ I dither,

‘Stay in my warm bed,

Take a ‘sickie’ instead?'

But to the office I now slide and slither.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

With Irish eyes glassy from beer

and the pub so noisy with cheer,

a reel is now played

and blarney relayed -

I wish I was Irish, my dear!

FRIEND, THE WORLD IS GREY NOW.....

Friend, the world is grey now,

So sudden overnight!

The joys, intensely sought, now

Are for us out of sight!

Friend, you are alone now,

Lonely and so cold;

I think we are at end now,

Aged, so sick and old.

Friend, what do we do now,

we've lived a live so bold,

have reached for all success, now

what's left that we're old?

Friend, it is a dream now,

the life we've lived of old,

Mem'ries fade, we do so now,

And soon we will be cold!

THE CONSTIPATED WEDDING NIGHT

THE WEDDING GUESTS ARE NOISY DRINKERS,
LOUSY SINGERS, SOME ARE STINKERS.

WITH FOOD IN ABUNDANCE AND PLENTY TO DRINK,
THE WEDDED PAIR TO THE EXIT SLINK.

THE GUESTS NOW STAGGER 'ROUND IN DANCES,
THE SINGLE ONES MAKE DARING ADVANCES.

THE NEWLY-WEDS FEEL THEIR STOMACH UPSET
FROM EXOTIC AND UNKNOWN FOODS THEY ATE.

WITH BURSTING BELLY AND NOTING NO MOTION,
THEY ASKED THEIR HOTEL FOR A LAXATIVE LOTION.

TAKING TURNS IN THE BATHROOM WITHOUT REPORT,
THEY, WITH SINKING FEELING, TO BROODING RESORT.

WEDDING, THEY FIND, IS OVERRATED
WHEN THE WEDDING NIGHT IS CONSTIPATED!

AMERICAN ENGLISH

A wordsmith, young, was working late,
The right word here is lucubrate,
Syllogistic like a popinjay,
He bloviates in written fray
Like pecksniffians a statement make!

THE AUSTRALIAN ALPHABET (continued)

LETTERS 'K' to 'O'

The Kangaroo is a marsupial proud,
a Kookaburra laughs aloud.

The Leadbetter's Possum is nearly extinct,
a Lager is a favourite drink.

A Mate is as important as beer,
Meat pies are eaten with gusto here.

One cannot hunt in a National Park,
Ned Kelly was not a very bright spark!

The Opera house is a Diva's home,
in Orbost lots of Wombats roam.

THE AUSTRALIAN ALPHABET (continued)

LETTERS 'F' to 'J'

The F-word is quite often heard,
Footy is no game for a nerd!

A Galah is not always a bird,
the Grampians we know - what's Gariwerd?

'Hooley Dooley' is said as surprise,
to give Hampers at Christmas is very wise!

Too much Idiot Box can be a folly,
an Icey pole is a frozen lolly.

A Jelly is a delicious dish,
which can't be said for the Jellyfish.

NOT ANOTHER LIMERICK!

My cat wants to show that she’d missed me,

Jumps into my arms to kiss me.

Two paws on my cheeks,

Of fish her breath reeks -

And then she does nothing but lick me!
